Cody Mora grew up in a ranching family, which ignited his passion for roping and fondness of competition.
“At age 15 my parents partnered in West Coast Rodeo Company where my brothers and I also worked and competed,” Mora said, “I moved to San Luis Obispo for college and started working for Rancho Arroyo Grande where I still reside and have been training horses for over 16 years.”
Mora has competed at the BFI, ACTRA, USTRC, World Series, PRCA and CCPRA, however, his favorite memory is not what you would expect.
“My favorite memory is on-going. I love the fact that I get to compete with the best ropers across the country and we all strive to be the best,” Mora said, “The people we meet and the compassion we all share for this industry excites me and keeps me going on to the next.”
Through his years of roping and riding, his advice to riders everywhere is to become a solid horseman.
“You need to fix yourself before you can fix your horse,” Mora said, “Winning comes through horsemanship.”
Alongside a passion for horsemanship, Mora believes in taking of his horses, starting with a Best Ever saddle pad.
“I love the quality and fit that Best Ever Pads provides to both me and my horses,” Mora said, “My saddles fit better giving me the confidence that my horses will feel great and work to their full potential.”
