This year, horses can delight in the magic of National Candy Day right next to you! There are hundreds of scrumptious horsey treat desserts, but as the saying goes, less is more. Try a simple four-ingredient recipe for horse treats to keep your horses (and your sanity) happy!
Ingredients
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
¼ cup flour
¾ cup applesauce
¼ cup molasses
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Mix the oatmeal and flour in a large mixing bowl
- Add the applesauce and slowly mix in molasses
- Once you have an even consistency, take a spoon and scoop enough for a small dough ball
- Arrange balls on cookie sheet and cook for 20 minutes
- Remove from the oven and enjoy!*
To properly celebrate National Candy Day, add peppermints to your horse treats! Your horse is sure to love them.
