The Resistol Rookie of the Year class was crowned in front of 17,000 fans on December 6, 2016 in the Thomas & Mack Center.
Among the ten athletes crowned, two represented Best Ever Pads.
Dustin Egusquiza of Mariana, Florida finished the year with $58,692.10 to take the heading title, and Dalton Pearce of San Luis Obispo, California swept the heeling crown with $38,229.24.
“It was pretty exciting to actually be there and know what I was getting,” Dustin said. “I had a pretty big lead throughout the last part of the year so I knew I was going to be the rookie.”

Both of these Resistol Rookie of the Year athletes have represented Best Ever Pads to the full extent of their abilities throughout the 2016 rodeo season.
Dustin recently won the $10,000 Boyd Chute Out in Las Vegas with partner Clark Adcock, and was the champion of the George Strait Team Roping Classic in March.
Dalton was the Pendleton Roundup team roping champion with Ryan Reed.
We are strongly looking forward to what these two talented individuals will accomplish in 2017.
“I’m roping with a veteran, Kory Koontz, and we start the year in Denver. I’m pretty excited,” Dustin said. “I got a late start this past year, [/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][so next year] I want to stay in the top five all year and set a higher goal for myself.”[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
